Pre-Course Counselling

International Students will go through Pre-Course Counseling with approved course counsellors. They will explain about the Programme details, Fee Protection Scheme, Refund Policy, Appeal procedures and other relevant information.

Course Counsellors brief the prospective student/parents/guardian on the following items listed in the Student’s Enrolment Pre-course Counselling Form (FM-MKT-27). The course counsellors assist the parent/guardian to complete the Pre-course Counselling Checklist form after completing the briefing & submit the completed Pre-course Counselling Checklist Form and relevant documents to Baking Industry Training College for ‘Selection Processing.’

Course Application

International Students will be required to submit the documents below for evaluation:

  1. A duly completed BITC Student application form.
  2. Certified copies of ALL academic qualifications and transcripts
  3. Proof of English language proficiency (if applicable)
  4. Copy of student’s valid travel document (showing bio-data information),if applicable
  5. Copy of the birth certificate
  6. Recent passport-sized photograph (white background) or scanned copy in JPEG file size 400 x 514 with white background.
  7. Proof of Financial Support, if applicable( min S$30000 for International Students )
  8. Proof of payment of Application Fee (S$ 108.00, non-refundable).
  9. A self introductory video.
  10. Work Experience letters if any

Note: All documents submitted needs to be in the English language. Please provide the original non-translated and translated documents during submission.

Issuance of Letter of Offer

Upon receiving of application form and supporting documents from student, BITC shall evaluate the application, and after confirming the applicant meets the course minimum entry requirement issue the Letter of Offer (LOO). The applicant needs to sign and return the Acceptance of Offer Letter Form.

Application of Student Pass

International Students – refer to foreigners – who wish to pursue a full-time study in Singapore. They are required to apply for a Student’s Pass with the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

Upon receipt of the signed Acceptance of Offer Letter, BITC shall submit the Student’s Pass application via Singapore ICA SOLAR+ system.

In general, for Edu Trust certified schools, the processing time for a Student’s Pass application is about two weeks to four weeks. Some applications may, however, take a longer time to process.

BITC does not guarantee any successful approval of the Student’s Pass application. For more information on the Student’s Pass application, please refer to www.ica.gov.sg.

BITC shall monitor the status of the Student’s Pass application to update the applicant on the outcome of the Student’s Pass application.

Student contract

BITC shall proceed with the signing of the Advisory Note and Student Contract with the approved student. The student needs to sign two original copies of the student contract for the course admission. For a student below 18 years of age, the Advisory Note and Student contract has to be signed by his/her parent or legal guardian.

Fee Payment, Arrival and Student’s Pass Formalities

The student needs to make the Course Fee Payment via Telegraphic Transfer to the College after signing the Standard PEI-Student contract and the Advisory Note.

For Telegraphic Transfer (TT), please quote Student Name and Course Title and Passport No, under the payment details in the TT Form.

Upon receipt of the course fees, BITC shall make payment to ICA for the issuance of IPA (In-principle Approval). The IPA letter usually is valid for six months from the issuance date or the Course Commencement date (whichever is later). The student will then prepare for his/her arrival in Singapore.

BITC email the original copy of the IPA letter and Confirmation of Enrolment to the student through his/her recruitment agent or marketing staff. Upon arrival, BITC will assist the student in the formalities for the collection of student pass.

you will need to visit the Student’s Pass Unit on the 4th floor of ICA Building (details above), to complete the formalities and collect your Student’s Pass within the duration of your Visit Pass.

To complete the formalities and collect your Student’s Pass, you will need to provide original documents and/or photocopies as required.

Student’s Pass applicants aged 15 or older may be required to undergo a medical check-up. Your IPA letter will mention if it is required in your case.
